The BoardPresident Judy Cook TD, MSc, RGN, OHN Cert, MIOSH Judy started her nursing career at St Bartholomew's Hospital London, qualifying as an RGN in 1972. She then gained post registration experience in a variety of acute clinical settings in the UK and abroad before commencing occupational health nursing at British Gas in the late 1970s. Following this introduction to occupational health Judy has worked in the delivery and management of the speciality in various organisations both in the public and private sector. These include the Civil Service, Ford Motor Company, Metropolitan Police Service and two London NHS trusts. Since 1999, Judy has been at British Airways as Head of Occupational Health Services (OHS) based at the airline's HQ building near Heathrow. As part of the Directorate of Health Services, the OHS team provides varying services to approximately 40,000 employees based mainly in the UK. Judy has increased her links with the Association over the last 2-3 years, first as a member of the working party producing guidance and training on clinical supervision and then as presenter of the 2001 Ruth Alston Memorial Lecture. One of her great hopes is that occupational health practitioners can continue to explore, influence and lead the way in adopting multi skilled approaches to future health care and that they become visionary, not fearful of the technology which will become an increasingly crucial part of this century's lifestyle. Judy is currently a member of the editorial advisory committee of Occupational Health and hopes to be able to encourage more practitioners to write and publish on their evidenced practice. Vice President Jeremy Smith, RGN AIIRSM BSc Hons (OHN) Jeremy started his nursing career in 1985 at Charing Cross Hospital and has worked in Occupational Health since 1996, after spending several years in A&E. Jeremy has worked in Occupational Health in the Southeast in a number of different roles since 1996 and is currently the Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor with Kent County Council. In his other life Jeremy dances with Oyster Morris, something he has done since 1989 and intends to keep doing until his knees turn to powder. Professionally Jeremy completed his degree at the RCNI in 2000 and is now concentrating on work before possibly contemplating an MSc at some time in the future. He is a founder member of the Kent OH Group and has been Co-Chair of KOHG for the past couple of years. He lives in Dover with his wife, Anna. Following completed Territorial Army training, Jeremy has recently returned from to Iraq. The following positions are currently vacant:
